Split child expenses without the arguments
Log a cost, attach the receipt, and let your co-parent approve their share. Every amount, approval and payment is dated.
Snap the receipt, skip the typing
Take a photo of a receipt and MiddleWise reads the store, amount, date and category for you. Check it, choose the child, and save.
Your agreed split, applied every time
Set your usual split once, whether that is 50/50, 60/40 or anything else, and it is filled in on every new expense. Daycare, lessons and other regular costs can repeat on schedule.
Approve, dispute, settle up
The other parent approves or disputes each expense with a note. When it is time to pay, settle up with one payment that clears everything open between you, and export a CSV for your records or taxes.
Common questions
What expenses do co-parents usually split?
Common shared costs are childcare, medical and dental bills not covered by insurance, school fees, activities and sports, and sometimes clothing. Your parenting plan or agreement sets what is shared and in what proportion.
Does MiddleWise move money?
No. It records expenses and payments made however you prefer, such as e-transfer, so there is a clear history of who paid what.
Start with the schedule. Invite your co-parent when you're ready.
Setting up takes a few minutes. Nothing is sent to anyone until you choose to invite them.
